20 Gift Ideas for a 2-Year-Old Girl
Shopping for a 2nd birthday? As a mom of an almost 2-year-old girl, I’ve been busy researching and shopping for gifts she’ll love. Checkout the wishlist I’ve compiled for my birthday girl!
Play Tent - My almost two-year-old, Sadie, LOVES playing house. This tent will be the perfect spot for her to hang with her babies. I can also see us cozying up inside to read books or listen to the Tonie box (see #10).
Tea Set - My daughter loves serving food and drinks. This tea set will be great for some independent play with her dolls or for interacting with family and friends.
Vanity - Sadie has recently become interested in my makeup. She actually got a lip gloss open the other day and put some on her lips (and other parts of her face). I’m hoping she’ll love this vanity as much as my actual makeup.
Art Table with Storage - I love that this table doubles as a bookcase/storage system. We are constantly running out of storage space for toys and art supplies.
Baby Doll Bath Set - Sadie is baby OBSESSED. Her favorite activity is taking care of her dolls, whether it be taking them to the doctor, feeding them, changing their diapers and outfits, or pushing them in the stroller. I recently caught her playing in our shower with her baby, so I have no doubt that she will love this bath set.
Ice Cream Cart - We were gifted a similar ice cream cart for Sadie’s first birthday, and she loves it just as much today as she did a year ago. This is a toy that will continue to grow with her. Nowadays, she is interested in serving ice cream to her family and dolls, whereas last year she just liked to take the pieces apart.
Doll Stroller - This has been a favorite item of Sadie’s since she first learned how to walk. For this birthday, I’m thinking of upgrading to the double stroller (linked) so that she can take two babies for a walk at once!
Disney Princess Dress-up - Sadie loves accessorizing (sunglasses, jewelry, crown) but doesn’t own any dress-up clothes yet! Based on what I’ve heard from my friends with older daughters, the princess phase will likely be starting soon.
Play Kitchen - We bought this kitchen closer to Sadie’s first birthday, but this is another item that will grow with her for years to come. If you’re looking for a big present for a two-year-old (who doesn’t have a play kitchen yet), this is the gift to get! Sadie’s kitchen is currently living in our kitchen so that she can keep herself busy while I’m cooking and/or cleaning.
Tonie Box - Another more substantial gift that will stand the test of time! The Tonie Box is essentially a speaker that toddlers can operate themselves. The Tonie figurines are sold separately and programmed with interactive audio content that will appeal to kids of all ages. Sadie has a handful of Tonies right now and will continue to grow her collection in the years to come.
Toddler Bike - I’m really excited about this multifunctional toddler bike! This will serve as Sadie’s first balance bike and tricycle, and we’ll also use the parent push modes for longer walks.
Play-doh Bake Set - Play-doh makes a great gift for any toddler. I picked this particular set for my sweets-obsessed girl.
Pizza Kit - Melissa & Doug have so many amazing play food kits — a great addition to any play kitchen. I think this pizza kit will keep Sadie busy and engaged while strengthening her fine motor skills.
Play Purse and Makeup Kit - This kit has my child’s name written all over it. If you’re gifting a girlie girl who loves shopping, dress-up, accessorizing, and more, this is the perfect purchase that serves as many gifts for the price of one!
Sticker Collection and Coloring Pad - We have officially entered our arts and crafts era! Stickers and coloring are among Sadie’s favorite activities, so this is the perfect combo for our house.
Play Sink with Running Water - We have seen this item at many friends’ houses, and I know it’s a hit! Sadie loves to wash her hands and always wants to help with the dishes (love her for this), so I’m hoping to get her a sink of her own.
Mini Trampoline - Many two-year-olds (mine included) are still learning to jump. Sadie loves “jumping,” but doesn’t really clear the ground yet. The trampoline is a great way for her to develop this skill while having a lot of fun.
Birthday Cake - Ever since my niece turned two in December, Sadie has been obsessed with birthdays. We’re currently sticking birthday candles into play-doh “cakes,” but this toy will be much more exciting!
Toddler Scooter - This scooter has two modes (sit-on and stand-up) and will be a great outdoor toy for Sadie this spring and summer.
Food Truck - As I mentioned, my toddler loves serving food. This food truck is a fun alternative to the ice cream cart or play kitchen. It even includes a cash register, sink, stove, steering wheel, and more.
